Singapore Untamed is a physical board game for four to six players. Centered around Singapore’s rich biodiversity, the game features the island’s flora and fauna as well as ecological habitats. The game was first conceptualised as a creative means of educating individuals on biological evolution and inter-species competition. Players are to collect as many ‘adaptations’ as possible in order to become the ‘fittest’ species. Each player can explore different natural habitats in search of food, while being careful not to destroy the habitat that they are in. Taking cue from evolutionary game theory, players can also choose to work with or against other players, and their decisions are tied to varying repercussions. Designed with environmental education in mind, Singapore Untamed is currently played within the context of facilitated workshops for secondary school participants.
