SLL ran a workshop on making eco-detergents from recycled CNY mandarin orange peels, as part of NTU Service Learning Week 2023.

Participants from NIE, NTU and even NUS listened to brief talk on sustainable consumer choices, followed by a lively hands-on session where they made eco-detergents. using either orange peels, sugar, water and yeast, or orange peels and vinegar.

These eco-friendly detergents can be diluted after fermentation for cleaning household surfaces and even washing fruits and vegetables. It was a great way to start the work week after the lunar new year holiday.
